Help Give Our Troops A Buzz
Organic Planet Coffee & Tea launch Operation Caffeinated Troops--a donation campaign to send coffee to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan Coffee.
Sliver Springs, NV November 14, 2004 -- Jane Bell, owner of Organic Planet Coffee & Tea, recently heard about a Salinas, California woman who was boycotting a well-known company because they wouldn't send coffee to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Ms. Bell, currently a Staff Sergeant for the U.S. Army Reserves, knows how important these little comforts of home can be to her brothers and sisters in arms. The staff at Organic Planet heard this woman’s call and decided to take some action.
"I know a lot of people who want to support our troops, but unless they have a family member or friend serving over there, finding ways to send home comforts can be difficult and frustrating" states Bell. "I understand how this woman feels--she wants to comfort her brother with his favorite coffee. My staff and I realized that there are many more people like her, so we decided to launch "Operation Caffeinated Troops".
"Operation Caffeinated Troops" allows individuals to donate money to a troop coffee fund in $5 increments, which will be used to supply as many troops as possible with organic coffee. Individuals who donate $15 or more will receive a free sample of Organic Planet Coffee as a token of appreciation.
"Operation Caffeinated Troops provides a solution to those who want to support our troops, but don't know how". According to Bell, “Operation Caffeinated Troops" will continue until they come home again.”
Organic Planet Coffee & Tea has over sixty affiliates in their affiliate program who are spreading the word about "Operation Caffeinated Troops". Bell is confident the program will be a huge success because "our affiliates have been working relentlessly to spread the word and they are passionate about this campaign."
Organic Planet Coffee & Tea offers a wide variety of organic and Fair Trade Certified coffees and teas, as well as organic chocolate bars, hot cocoa and gift boxes filled with delectable delights.
"We may not be as big as other coffee companies, but we're doing something they are not--supporting our troops" states Bell. "If we can locate the woman who inspired us to start "OP-eration Caffeinated Troops" we'd be honored to provide her brother and his friends with some Organic Planet coffee".
